 The Choir Conductor

Iosif Ion Prunner has been the permanent conductor of the Choir of the Philharmonic since 1997. He is a valuable pianist and orchestra and opera conductor, who brought a new spirit to this artistic group, and won recognition for it at important Romanian music events.

Graduate of National University of Music in Bucharest, Iosif Ion Prunner carries on an intense artistic activity as director and pianist in the country and abroad. He participated in prestigious festivals (Janacek, Enescu, Athens, Prague, etc..) and often he showed great aptitudes in musical centers in Japan, Hungary, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Russia, Germany, Spain.
The country he has worked with the chamber orchestra and the Philharmonic "George Enescu", National Radio Orchestraand Radio Chamber Orchestra, beeing also invited to conduct performances at the Romanian National Opera and the desk of important Romanian philharmonics.
As a conductor and pianist he has worked with great personalities of world music, such as Lawrence Foster, Mandeal Sergiu Comissiona, R.Penderecky, Valentin Gheorghiu, G.Roszdesventsky, Ion Voicu, Dan Iordachescu, Cristian Herod, Eugenia Moldoveanu, G . Crasnaru, Martha Kessler, John Voineag, etc..
Founder and conductor of chamber orchestra "Constantin Silvestri", is both executive president of thefoundation and chief of the contest named after the great conductor. Currently Iosif Ion Prunner leads the Philharmonic Choir "George Enescu", and the same time conducting other symphonic concerts and opera performances.
